If you’re in the turf and sod industry, you’ll understand the importance of high-quality netting for harvesting and planting. Conwed™ Turf and Sod Netting is not just another product in the market, it’s a game-changer. With its unique features and benefits, it’s hard to match. We interviewed Conwed Senior Product Manager Bruce Choi for his expert take on how growers use our products to level up their harvest.

How would you describe Conwed’s Turf and Sod Netting to a potential customer?

Conwed™ Turf and Sod Netting is renowned for being the lightest weight and most robust product in the industry. It plays a crucial role in keeping the sod tight after harvesting, ensuring the quality of the product for sale. Additionally, the Conwed™ Field Net product shares similar attributes with sod wrap but is specifically designed to hold the roots and facilitate the development of strong roots for cool-weather grasses. This makes it an indispensable tool for farms across the United States and Canada, where it is used for sod harvesting, planting, and growing.

What makes Conwed so indispensable to farmers and growers at harvest time?

For starters, quality and availability are a must for our customers. Our turf and sod nettings are proudly made in the USA using the highest quality components. Because it’s manufactured and shipped from precision points in the US, the lead and delivery times are much shorter than products coming from overseas.

Secondly, our unique customization capabilities allow us to tailor the nettings to meet farmers’ needs, with the green net featuring stabilizers for longer exposure times and the brown net containing degraders for gradual degradation over time.

Another noteworthy advantage of our sod netting is its long roll length, which is more substantial than the competition’s. This strength allows for more extended harvests without the need for frequent net roll changes, and the tight, strong wrap helps keep the sod rolls looking attractive to potential buyers.

You spoke about quality. Can you give us some examples?

Sure. I like to say that the quality of Conwed™ Field Net is not just evident; it’s reassuring. It lays flat and prevents rippling, creating a superior growing surface and preventing issues such as tenting. This underscores the product’s quality and plays a significant role in preventing such instances when appropriately installed.

One of the standout features of Conwed™ Turf Reinforcement Netting is its ability to help turf growers not just grow, but thrive. It maximizes growth, increases yields, and reduces waste and labor, giving farmers a reason to be optimistic about their harvests. We love helping customers realize gain and eliminate excess waste.

What about environmental safety?

Conwed Turf and Sod Netting is in compliance with the FDA 21 CFR 175-178 requirements for direct food contact and is not designated as hazardous by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard 29CFR1910.1200. We assure customers that our product is safe and technically suitable for their intended applications. We recommend that customers verify its status annually due to potential changes in laws and regulations.
