Advanced Nettings

Innovative netting technologies engineered for exceptional strength, lightweight design, and versatile performance across industries.

Conwed’s Advanced Netting portfolio represents the next generation of polymer netting technology engineered to elevate product performance. These solutions share a common goal: deliver superior strength and durability without excessive weight, thanks to exceptional strength-to-weight ratios and rugged designs that perform under extreme conditions. All of our nets are highly adaptable; we offer various configurations and polymer combinations (for example, square, bi-oriented, or multilayer designs) that can be tailored to meet specific performance requirements. This versatility means advanced netting can be applied across a wide range of industries and applications, from aerospace and automotive components to medical textiles, construction materials, agricultural products, and everyday consumer goods.

Conwed nettings are designed to solve unique challenges

The Advanced Netting family unifies several specialized netting types, each designed to solve unique challenges while working together to provide a comprehensive solution set.

For example, co-extrusion netting is a multi-layer plastic mesh that can combine different polymer layers in one net structure. This allows built-in adhesive or functional layers, so manufacturers can bond materials in a single step – eliminating separate adhesive processes and simplifying composite production.

Heat-Activated Netting builds on this concept with integrated adhesive properties that fuse multiple substrates into a single, improved composite as heat is applied, forming a stronger bond without additional glue or stitching.

In bi-component netting, two different polymers are extruded in perpendicular directions (machine direction vs. cross direction) within the same mesh, yielding one-of-a-kind performance combinations – for instance, an elastic material in one direction and a stiffer polymer in the other for a balance of stretch and support.

Our Multilayer Netting takes reinforcement to another level by layering multiple oriented nets atop one another, creating an extra-tough yet lightweight mesh that can reinforce, support, and bond a wide range of substrates without adding bulk.

For advanced composite fabrication processes, Conwed’s Naltex™ Flow Media is a diamond-pattern extruded netting optimized for resin infusion techniques like VARTM. It ensures faster, more uniform resin flow and up to 15% less resin waste, leading to quicker cycle times and consistent quality in high-performance parts.

And our Oriented Netting is created by stretching extruded net in one or both directions, producing ultra-light nets with very high tensile strength and dimensional stability. This technology provides critical reinforcement and containment in demanding applications – from erosion control blankets and turf reinforcement to hay bale wrapping, insulation netting, and composite laminates, oriented nets deliver strength and reliability without weight or corrosion issues.
